The Argentine Forum of the Southern Productive Countries Group (GPS) signed a Letter of Institutional Cooperation Agreement with the Buenos Aires Cereals Exchange, with the purpose of strengthening collaboration between both entities in the face of the growing international challenges facing the agri-food sector.
The agreement was signed by Alberto Morelli, Coordinator of the GPS Argentina Forum, and Ricardo Marra, President of the Grain Exchange, consolidating a relationship that seeks to coordinate capabilities and strengthen joint initiatives.
Representing GPS were Marcelo Regúnaga, General Coordinator; Horacio Sánchez Caballero, Advisory Council Leader; Martín Piñeiro, Advisory Council Member; and Nelson Illescas, Director of Content and Communications. Representing the Stock Exchange were Ramiro Costa, Manager of Economic Studies; and Maximiliano Moreno and Juliana Inda, Director and Analyst of the INAI Foundation, respectively.
The Letter of Agreement provides for the development of strategic actions at different levels:
- Exchange of information, publications, and technical data relevant to the analysis of agri-food policies.
- Joint organization of seminars, workshops, and forums that promote discussion of global trends and challenges.
- Development of research studies and projects, focusing on the competitiveness and sustainability of regional agriculture.
- Promoting international positioning initiatives that strengthen the Southern Cone's voice in global markets.
From GPS, the signing of this agreement is interpreted as a key step to expanding the generation of evidence, disseminating good practices and promoting sustainable production systems. Collaboration with the Cereals Exchange will allow strengthening its impact capacity and contributing to the strategic positioning of Cono Sur's agriculture in an increasingly demanding international scenario in terms of sustainability, food security and trade.
With this alliance, GPS reaffirms its commitment to articulate the public, private and academic sectors to strengthen the international insertion of southern producing countries and provide solutions to the global challenges of agri-food systems.
