Nelson Illescas, Director de Contenidos y Comunicaci\u00f3n de GPS, particip\u00f3 a lo largo de la semana del 10 al 14 de junio en las reuniones del Comit\u00e9 del Fondo Fiduciario del Climate Investment Fund (CIF) en Washington DC (EE.UU.).<\/p>\n\n\n

Este fondo fue establecido en 2008 mediante un proceso integral de dise\u00f1o con m\u00faltiples partes interesadas. El CIF ejemplifica un modelo de gobernanza equitativa que promueve el di\u00e1logo, la asociaci\u00f3n y la toma de decisiones transparentes. El marco del CIF se desarrolla bajo una representaci\u00f3n equitativa de pa\u00edses donantes y receptores, la toma de decisiones por consenso y el estatus de observador activo para representantes del sector privado, la sociedad civil y los pueblos ind\u00edgenas.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
El CIF es uno de los fondos multilaterales m\u00e1s grandes del mundo que apoyan a los pa\u00edses de ingresos bajos y medianos en la adaptaci\u00f3n y mitigaci\u00f3n del cambio clim\u00e1tico. Desde su creaci\u00f3n, ha canalizado fondos de donantes gubernamentales y del sector privado para apoyar m\u00e1s de 370 proyectos en 72 pa\u00edses.<\/p>\n\n\n

Debido a su rol en la Comisi\u00f3n de Ambiente y Energ\u00eda de ICC Argentina, en 2021, Nelson Illescas fue elegido para representar al sector privado en el Subcomit\u00e9 del Programa de Acci\u00f3n Clim\u00e1tica Global (GCAP, por sus siglas en ingl\u00e9s). Este subcomit\u00e9, establecido en 2020, supervisa los cuatro nuevos programas del CIF bajo el Fondo Estrat\u00e9gico del Clima (SCF, por sus siglas en ingl\u00e9s): el Programa de Integraci\u00f3n de Energ\u00edas Renovables (REI, por sus siglas en ingl\u00e9s), el Programa de Inversi\u00f3n en la Naturaleza, las Personas y el Clima (NPC, por sus siglas en ingl\u00e9s), el Programa de Descarbonizaci\u00f3n Industrial y el Programa de Ciudades Inteligentes para el Clima.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
